Rod bearings are the primary failure point that kills these engines, making this a preventative service that every S54 needs done. To ensure maximum longevity and protection against premature engine wear under high load, we utilize upgraded ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings paired with high-tensile ARP rod bolts.
The service involves dropped subframe access and removal of the engine oil pan to perform the full bearing replacement. During reassembly, the bottom end is entirely refreshed with new sealing components, including a Corteco oil pan gasket, Elring oil level sensor gasket, and Genuine BMW gaskets and O-rings for the oil pan cover, oil pump pickup tube, and dipstick tube.
Because the front subframe must be dropped, critical hardware is replaced with new Genuine BMW steering shaft and suspension subframe reinforcement plate bolts. The service is completed with a new Mahle engine oil filter kit, leaving the bottom end completely sealed and structurally sound.
This service can be completed same-day from your scheduled drop-off time.
