OMAR'S TURBO S52 E34 TOURING

It began as a stock, dealer-owned 525i wagon acquired from a charity auction. Omar’s initial plan was direct: an S52 engine swap. For a few years, he used it as a daily driver, running long-tube headers and a 3.5" MAF.

An early setup pairing a Holset HX40 Super turbocharger with stock S52 internals proved that factory ringlands have their limits under forced induction.

For the current configuration, Omar chose to build it without compromise. The foundation is an 86.5mm bore block built with JE Pistons, Carrillo rods, ARP main studs, and heavy-duty ARP 625+ head studs. The top end utilizes a non-VANOS M50 cylinder head, modified with a 5150 7mm valve conversion kit. Forced induction is delivered via a BorgWarner S366SX-E turbocharger with a TiAL exhaust housing, feeding a custom 4-inch downpipe and a full 3.5-inch exhaust system fabricated by SpecFab in San Diego, California.

Power is channeled through a ClutchMasters 850 Strapped twin-disc clutch, mated to a 6-speed ZF GS6-53BZ transmission from an E9X 335i.

While the exterior currently wears a rough appearance, the foundation is completely intact. The wagon sits with a full M-Sport body kit and authentic E34 M5 sport seats. A final coat of British Racing Green is next on Omar's list.

But he sorts every mechanical detail first. The cosmetics can wait until the mechanical work is complete.

THE RESURRECTION OF A 7 SERIES

It began as a standard, unmodified E23 saloon. After the owner’s son overheated it to the point where the head and pistons weren't salvageable, the car came to us for a swap.

The solution was a fully rebuilt M30B35. This new engine provides a subtle but noticeable bump in power over the factory motor, breathing through a new exhaust worthy of that big six note.

To complement the performance bump, the chassis was lowered on MTS Technik coilovers over a set of BBS RC wheels. The car now holds a commanding presence on the road.

The cabin also features a fully refinished, perforated buffalo leather interior sourced from a grey-market 745i.

TURBO M20 E30

This E30 arrived as a former track car turned street weekend driver, in desperate need of mechanical refinement. Its state of disassembly and an archaic Megasquirt 2 ECU suggested it was probably cobbled together in the mid 2000s. It leaked heavily from every gasket and suffered from a blown, generic turbocharger.

However, teardown revealed the unexpected. When the oil pan and valve cover were removed to address the leaks, we discovered a fully built bottom end featuring Eagle rods, new Mahle pistons, heavy duty rockers, and a crank scraper. The customer who purchased the vehicle under the impression the engine was completely stock gave us the green light for a complete overhaul.

Forced induction is now delivered via a Garrett GTX3076R Gen II turbocharger. The exhaust fabrication is in the works to be handled by SpecFab in San Diego, California.

The chassis was addressed next. The suspension received all new control arms and bushings, paired with a properly dialed in 5 lug conversion. To handle the output of the new Garrett turbocharger, the car sits on a refinished set of staggered Style 32 wheels, running 9inch rears wrapped in 245s.

Inside, the disorganized gauges were replaced with period correct STACK instruments and a set of Recaro SR3 seats. A modern ClassicDaily FOME ECU is next on the list to properly manage the new power band.

A thorough mechanical correction, built to perform.
